Director Hermes Mangialardo

Hermes Mangialardo is a Cartoonist, videomaker, visual artist, 3D videomapper and visual design teacher.

He began his activity as a director of music videos and then he focused on the production of short films and commercials, especially in the social field, such as ONE DAY IN JULY (30 international awards) or FRONTIERS.

He created the Urban Jungle series for MTV, a mix of documentary and irony that investigates all the phenomena of “urban wildlife”. The series becomes a cult on the web with millions of views on YouTube, becoming the subject of university lectures and TV programs.

Plot:

The short film is the story of a secret love in Gallipoli (south of italy), in the early 1900s: he is a humble fisherman, she is the daughter of the local baron. Their meeting place is in the vegetation of the Purità beach, under the ramparts of the Ionian city. One evening, however, the two lovers are discovered. She is imprisoned by her family in a place out of sight of her beloved and of the whole city. But the desperation and the desire of the two lovers will be stronger than adversity. They will be able to communicate, thanks to the power of music and "light".

Fabrizio Ancillai has studied and graduated in photography at the academy of cinema and television Roberto Rossellini of RomeAfter completing his studies, Ancillai worked as focus puller and camera operator for some of the most important DOP such as Gerry Fisher, Dante Spinotti, Armando Nannuzzi, Tonino delli Colli, Franco Di Giacomo for films directed by Franco Zeffirelli,Carlo Lizzani ,Julie Taymor,Fedor Bondarchuk,Tinto Brass, and more. In 2003 he started his film career by writing and directing . His first short movie “The Red Shoe” received several award nominations including Italian Golden Globe . His second short movie “Kamikaze” which screened at festivals worldwide, and won multiple awards in Europe and Italy. in 2005 he opened an independent production of young filmmakers, in the 2009 directed third short movie "Tears" . Fabrizio is a working has several documentary , short movie e videoclip projects. He has recently completed another shorts movie , Burning Red .He is currently developing his debut feature film.

Plot:

The short movie talks about the thematic of violence against women and its different facets and implications through the love story of Luca and Marzia who, separately and each one from its own point of view, tell us their last evening together.

Police Ispector Melzi is in charge of collecting the testimony of a shocked Luca and try to shed light on the mysterious and sudden disappearance of his beloved girlfriend. Instead it’s up to Anna who is responsible for an anti-violence centre for women, to welcome and comfort a frightened and lost Marzia.

Director Paolo Carboni

Paolo Carboni (born in Cagliari in 1966) is an independent director and producer from Cagliari. In the late 1980s, he trained as a video camera operator and has since collaborated with both regional and national broadcasters, producing television programs, news magazines, and documentaries. Simultaneously, he began his journey as an independent filmmaker. His first short film, “Cadenas” (1994), won the Best Editing Award at the Videogramma competition in Catania.

In 2000, he founded the production company Areavisuale, through which he has created numerous short films, documentaries, and films that have earned national and international recognition.

Carboni is also one of the founders of Eja TV, the first television and web channel in the Sardinian language (Channel 172 of digital terrestrial until 2021, now a web TV), which develops a communication model based on programs in Sardinia's minority languages. Since 2021, he has been among the producers of RTS – Radio Televisione Sarda (Channel 79 of digital terrestrial) and currently serves as President of the cultural association bearing the same name.
