Nicola Guarino - Jury President


Nicola Guarino, born in Avellino in 1958, is a university professor and journalist with a long academic and cultural career. After moving to Paris in 2004, he teaches at La Sorbonne University, where he has conducted courses in literature and cinema, with a particular interest in cinematic language.

He has collaborated with major newspapers such as L’Unità and Paese Sera. Today, he is a co-founder and editor of the website Altritaliani.net, a platform dedicated to Italian culture abroad.

In 2023, he published his first book of short stories, Tutto qui, a collection that explores the connections between Naples and Paris. The work has received excellent reviews and has been presented in numerous cities in Italy, France, and Luxembourg.

Andrea Curcione


Andrea Curcione, was born in Venice in 1964. He holds a degree in History and is a freelance journalist, film critic, and writer. His short stories have been published in anthologies dedicated to Venice. Specializing in the "noir" genre, he published several stories in Crimini in laguna (2012) and then the thriller novel Intrigo veneziano (2015) with Piazza Editore. A member of the National Union of Film Critics, he participates in festivals and exhibitions as a critic, including the Venice International Film Festival. He collaborates with CINIT – Italian Film Forum and also engages in film presentations during the Critics’ Week at the Venice Film Festival. Additionally, he contributes to several websites, including Altritaliani.net and Mostradelcinema.net.

Violetta Luongo


Violetta Luongo, a professional journalist from Naples born in 1980, holds a degree in Modern Literature from the University of Federico II in Naples. She has collaborated with various national and international media outlets, including the Rome-based news agency Adnkronos, Tgr Rai Campania, Il Corriere della Sera, and other online, video, and print publications. She is the presenter of the local news broadcast Tv Campi Flegrei.

Violetta teaches communication and journalism in a course aimed at primary school students, university students, and those under 35 as part of a project promoted by the City of Naples. She is also a curator of exhibitions, cultural events, and art catalogs in collaboration with the cultural association "Il Corvo" of Pozzuoli, which has been active in the area for over 25 years.

She is the author and co-author of several books, including:

Santho Iorio


Santho Iorio, journalist, film critic, and organizer of film festivals. Born in Cuorgnè (TO) 48 years ago. Married to Elena, he has five children: Federico, Martina, Francesca, Simone, and Gabriele.

He has always been dedicated to organizing and promoting a series of cultural events that have made a lasting impact. Among these is the success of the film festival "Due città al Cinema," where he served as artistic director from 2011 to 2022.

For many years, he has collaborated as a journalist with the newspaper “Quotidiano del Canavese,” covering cinema, culture, and political news.

Jamal Ouassini


Jamal Ouassini, violinist, composer, and conductor, is the founder of numerous musical projects and a leading figure in the concert and seminar scene, particularly in the realm of traditional Mediterranean music. He served as President of the Dante Alighieri Committee in Tangier.

As conductor and violinist of the Arab-Andalusian Orchestra of Tangier, he released the double CD Incontro a Tangeri, a musical journey through Arab, Christian, and Jewish cultures, with an introduction by writer Tahar Ben Jelloun. The work received the UNESCO prize in 2003.

He has collaborated extensively in theater and film projects, including: Federico II written and performed by Giorgio Albertazzi, Il Viaggio di MirnahIl Castello Variopinto, and Aladino, directed and performed by Michel Poletti. He also composed the soundtrack for the film Uova di Garofano by Silvano Agosti, which was presented at the Venice Biennale.

Among his most notable works are: the show Shir Del Essalem in collaboration with Moni Ovadia; the music and dance production Al Kazar, which brought together artists from Morocco, Spain, Italy, and Greece, premiering at the Valli Theater in Reggio Emilia and released on DVD; the performance L’ayali l’kamar with the “Encuentros” Ensemble, presented at the Teatro Grande in Pompeii; and a special event for the Mantua Literature Festival, featuring writer Tahar Ben Jelloun, which was broadcast by RAI NEWS.

He collaborated with Franco Battiato as a violinist, composer, and arranger for several pieces in the show Diwan. L’essenza del reale, which was followed by an important national tour.

Jamal Ouassini was invited to perform as a violinist at the Vatican Gardens for the Invocation for Peace event, organized by Pope Francis.

Carla Landi


Carla Landi, born in Bologna, she studied film and photography history at the University of Bologna, majoring in D.A.M.S. (Disciplines of Arts, Music, and Performance), and graduated with honors with a thesis on the American photographer Diane Arbus.

She worked in the film industry as a set decorator and in production.

From 2016 to 2023, she lived in Tangier, where she curated the Italian film series "Les Jeudis du Cinéma Italien" at the Rif Cinema, a series organized by the Tangier Committee of the Dante Alighieri Society in collaboration with the Cinémathèque de Tanger

Giulio Lupieri


Giulio Lupieri (Udine, 1954) is the editor-in-chief at Il Formichiere and Ubulibri, where he has curated the Patalogo, an annual on cinema, and catalogs for the Torino Film Festival. He coordinated the latest edition of Garzantina Cinema by Gianni Canova and regularly published articles and film notes for the Tele+ program guide. He has translated monographs on John Ford, Carl Theodor Dreyer, Derek Jarman, Sean Penn, Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Jean Cocteau, and Henri Cartier-Bresson, as well as screenplays by Woody Allen, Wim Wenders, and Patrice Chéreau. He is also the curator of Stracult, the dictionary of Italian films by Marco Giusti. He lives in Tangier, where he continues to work as a translator and editor.
